Welcome to LeFlore County!

Beautiful mountains, lakes, rivers, farms, ranches, small towns - these are just some of the attractions to LeFlore County.  Poteau, the county seat, has the distinction of being named as one of the "100 Best Small Towns in America" for its overall quality of life, and is home to Cavanal, the World's Highest Hill.

Nearby points of interest include:  the 1.5 million acre Ouachita National Forest, the South's oldest national forest, which provides opportunities for hunting, camping, horseback riding, and hiking. Enjoy waters sports, boating and fishing at Lake Wister State Park, Cedar Lake, and other area lakes and streams. The Talimena Scenic Byway and beautiful Kiamichi Mountains are breathtaking and a popular place to drive in the Fall to view the colorful foliage.  Other attractions include Runestone State Park, the Spiro Mounds, the Peter Conser House and the Kerr Country Mansion and Museum.

Many festivals take place in the county and include:  Balloonfest, Choctaw Festival, Antique Car Shows, Quilt Shows, Arts and Craft Festivals, and the LeFlore County Fair.  Poteau is host to the annual Poteau Frontier Rodeo.  Sporting events occur year round - baseball, basketball, football, soccer- and there are two challenging golf courses.

There are several medical clinics, a hospital, Carl Albert State College, and the Kiamichi Technology Center, along with good schools, pre-K to 12th, throughout the county.

My family has been here several generations; it is a great place to live and work, become involved in a community, and raise your children.  I have many years of experience in the real estate business - I love it - and love where I live! - I am always available to my clients.  Comments from those who have moved here include satisfaction with the relaxed pace of life, friendly people with a caring spirit, available activities, and cost of living.
